Reporting to the Campus Landscape Architect and working as a member of the Office of University Planning (OUP), the primary role of the Site Planner is to perform work in support of the Campus Landscape Architect, with occasional support to other OUP design/planning functions (transportation planning and architectural programs and projects.) These duties include drafting and sketching of plans (using various mediums) for design and construction drawings, presentation graphics and renderings, assisting with research, studies and reports, and providing occasional on-site photography and other site activities. This position requires a strong knowledge of landscape planning principles and design for the development of precinct plans, visual landscape nodes, social outdoor spaces, and a variety of landscape development and improvements utilizing the Virginia Tech Campus Design Principles. This is a restricted two (2) year position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
