Licensing Liaison

Reporting to the President, Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties (VTIP), the Licensing Liaison will be responsible for advising, reviewing and coordinating various pre-licensing and licensing activities in support of VTIP's evaluation, marketing, licensing and post-license compliance and reporting activities related to intellectual properties disclosed by faculty. Will serve as a liaison for the inventor with various licensing associates and managers and advise inventors regarding compliance issues for intellectual property, marketing and licensing activities. Will be involved in and assist in coordinating activities involved in multi-inventor and/or organization patent prosecution and license negotiations that involve complex legal requirements.
The successfully selected candidate will have exceptional organizational skills including the ability to coordinate activities and projects of multiple individuals to achieve well-organized, concise products on time; be detail-oriented, able to work independently, produce management reports, possess strong customer service and communication skills, and able to prioritize and manage large volumes of work well to anticipate and meet deadlines. Additionally, the successfully selected candidate will be expected to perform evaluation and/or market research using a variety of technologies/information resources or products.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
